En route to Oslo. Soon to be in Lofoten shooting the cod fishermen of North Norway. Look for the May issue of OUTSIDE magazine coming in a month or so. There you will find an feature on Norwegian whaling with photos by coreyfishes. Also look for my photos on the “Deadliest Catch” ad spreads appearing in Outside, Field and Stream, and Outdoor Life this or next month! Also just announced is the start date of the new “Deadliest Catch” on the 28th. of March on the Discovery Channel.

Opilio 2006

Back on board the Rollo for another round of Opilio crabbin’. As I write, we are anchored up at St Paul Island in the middle of the Bering Sea. Winds are blowing from the North at 40 knots. Temp is 18 degrees Farenheit. Ice is forming on the deck and we are preparing for heavy freezing spray for the next week of fishing. The discovery film crew is back on board with cameras waiting to capture our boat as it turns into a giant ice cube. Meanwhile I’m writing a story with photos for National Fisherman magazine, shooting once again for the Discovery Channel’s “Deadliest Catch” and making a website for our boat. Have a nice day.

Another week of whaling aboard the Bolga has produced zero whales once again. Bad weather conditions have spoiled our luck. The season has come to an end and the bloody whale photos will have to wait until next year! In other news, me and the crew of the F/V Rollo have been chosen to star in next seasons episodes of “Deadliest Catch” on the Discovery Channel. If you haven’t seen the show yet (I haven’t), I heard some of the other crabbers say its a decent show. Here is a link to the “Deadliest Catch” homepage.
