Bob Kronbauer of Crown Farmer and Little Giants has started his own online magazine called Mumble. He did a little feature interview with me for the 1st issue. Looks like the mag is worthy of a bookmark. Also below is the invite for the incredible NYC line-up at Higher Pictures opening Saturday.

The Rollo is now back and happily getting it’s hull scrubbed of barnacles in Seattle. Great things are happening back here in Portland. My solo show at Richard Heller Gallery has been forwarded to a May 12 opening. This will be my most exciting solo exhibition to date!

I’ve been invited to a show some photos at the inagural exhibition at the new Higher Pictures Gallery in NYC opening April 14 6-8Pm. Kim Bourus formerly the creative director at Magnum Photos and Daniel Silverstien formerly of the Silverstien Gallery have teamed up to form Higher Pictures Gallery. The show will feature works by super heavy hitters and some of my favorite legends like Diane Arbus, James Nachtwey, Henri Cartier Bresson, Koudelka, Robert Capa, Kertesz and many more… Wow.

On temporary eye injury sick leave in Anchorage, AK. Nothing permanent though. I’ve got some photos up at Tim Barber’s Tiny Vices installation in Paris. Check it out. I’m in and out of email contact for 3 more weeks so sorry if I haven’t responded. Also, my good buddy Aubrey Hays has a new website of photos. Check it out here.

Tomorrow, I will join the Rollo for about 7 weeks of crab fishing in the Bering Sea. If you’d like to send me or the others a cookie or letter or a fresh pair of dry socks we would love it! Here’s our address until early February:

Meanwhile if you are in Oslo, Norway on February 3rd, check out the opening of an exhibition I will have some work in at the Raadhus. Opening is from 1300-1700. Finnmart Kunst og Kultur fra Finnmark. The Queen is invited!

By the way, next week in Miami Richard Heller Gallery (Santa Monica) will be showing a group of my images (big ones) at the Pulse Art Fair.

Long time no news! I’ve been visiting NYC, crab fishing for a month aboard the Rollo followed by a couple weeks of halibuting. Acres of new stuff in the works. If you’re in Tokyo, Japan in December I’ll have some work in the Tiny Vices show at Studio B opening on the 16th. Check out Tim Barber’s website (tinyvices.com) for a great collection of photographer’s portfolios. Also, I’m still looking for a workspace in Portland if you know of any.

I’m leaving for Cape Town, South Africa next Thursday so if you are reading this from Cape Town, I could be your new friend. If anyone has connections with some fishermen out there send me an email… I’d appreciate it! Congrats to the Deadliest Catch Filmers… they’re nominated for a few Emmy awards.

The New site is online! There are still a few bugs though…. for example if you are using safari, you might have some troubles with the menu. We’re working on it but its nice to just get it out there finally! Feel free to email me if something isn’t working ok. Also I’ll have photos in two new San Francisco exhibitions: GRSF Tree Show in July and Fecal Face Annual Exhibition at 111 Minna in August. Thanks!
